Footprints
One of Dawn's favorite poems was Footprints. When I was a child I never really understood why, or what it meant, but now as an adult, and reflecting on her life, I know exactly why she loved it so much.
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.
This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

Dawn Lanzante (Farland)
LANZANTE, Dawn (Farland) Lanzante, 40, of Ansonia entered peacefully into eternal rest on October 7, 2011 at Bridgeport Hospital. Dawn was born and raised in Stratford.
She was an amazing and devoted mother who enjoyed gardening and being a homemaker. She was beautiful inside and out and was a very loving and gentle soul.
She is survived by her two sons Dylan, and Jacob. Dawn is also survived by parents Deborah and Louis Michaud of Stratford; paternal father, Timothy Farland of West Haven; Brother, Darin Farland and his sons Theodore and Elijah; her sister and best friend Danielle Elwood and husband William Elwood of Shelton and their children Camden, Benjamin, and Addison; maternal Grandmother Valerie Rodick of Homosassa Florida; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by her best friend David Tkacs of Stratford and ever loving husband Frank Lanzante Jr.
The family would like to thank friends and family who sat vigil by her bedside during the duration of her stay in the hospital. They would also like to thank VITAS Hospice, who, without their support, would have made this journey much harder.
Special thanks also to the seventh floor nursing staff including: PCT's, students, and our personal angel the Chaplain, Raphaella.
Friends are invited to visit with the family Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St, Stratford.
